Xi'an Hongding Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Polymers (or clays) in the drilling fluid system should be sufficiently sheared beforehand to improve their performance, ensuring their full effectiveness. If the polymer (or clay) is not sufficiently sheared, the vibrating screen may become clogged during the first circulation, resulting in a significant loss of polymer. Large solid particles in the drilling fluid will be difficult to remove, increasing drilling costs. Simultaneously, if the polymer (or clay) is not sufficiently sheared in the drilling fluid, numerous 'fish-eye' defects will form, damaging the formation, reducing formation permeability, and decreasing oil and gas production. Practical use has proven that Hongding Energy's JQB series drilling fluid shear pumps possess excellent performance. They provide high shear for the rapid hydration of polymers (or clays), solving the prominent problem of poor hydration of polymers (or clays) in drilling fluids. Meanwhile, the JQB series drilling fluid shear pump can reduce polymer usage by more than 15% and bentonite usage by more than 30%, while also reducing mud cake and fluid flow losses, lowering the drilling fluid shear rate, and improving gel strength, thus reaching the advanced level of similar foreign products. Furthermore, through design improvements, its shaft seal structure is more reliable and easier to use and maintain.

The JQB series drilling fluid shear pump produced by Hongding Energy uses a highly reliable composite seal to ensure zero leakage. The pump is equipped with a 300mm stainless steel turbine and a shear plate. The turbine has guide vanes, a main impeller, 44 nozzles, and 4 collection chambers, capable of generating small-end shear (liquid shear) exceeding 25.4 m/s. When the fluid flows through the shear pump, half (50%) of the fluid is sheared twice under the strong propulsion of the turbine collection chamber. The pump is mounted on a dedicated base and driven by a pulley, narrow V-belt, and a 55KW explosion-proof motor. A suitably sized mixing funnel is also used with the pump, forming a complete shearing and hydration system. Thanks to improvements in the pump shaft seal, its service life has been greatly extended.
