Circulating water refers to water used in a production process that, after appropriate treatment, is reused in other systems or processes. A circulating water system refers to water used in a particular production process that, after appropriate treatment, is used in other production processes within or outside the same water system.
I.Main types of reused water
1. Industrial wastewater reuse water: Industrial wastewater is treated by an appropriate treatment system to reach a certain water quality standard and meet certain usage requirements, and can be reused in other systems.
2. Recycled water reuse: The domestic wastewater of community residents (such as bathing, washing, laundry, kitchen, toilet, etc.) is centrally treated and reused to a certain standard for community greening irrigation, vehicle washing, road washing, household toilet washing, etc.
3. Rainwater reuse: Rainwater is collected and used for urban sanitation, green space irrigation, landscape water, toilet flushing, etc.
II.Application scenarios of reused water system
·Urban sanitation: used for dust prevention and watering, street washing, etc.
·Green space irrigation: Supplement the water demand of urban green space.
·Landscape water: Used for water replenishment of parks, squares and other landscapes.
·Toilet flushing and car washing: Used for flushing toilets and car washing in public toilets.
III.Treatment process and standards of recycled water system
1. Physical indicators: Including turbidity, color, odor, conductivity, suspended solids, etc.
2. Chemical indicators: Including pH value, hardness, alkalinity, metal ions, chlorides, sulfides, detergents, etc.
3. Biochemical indicators: BOD5 (biochemical oxygen demand in five days), COD (chemical oxygen demand), ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, etc.
4. Hygiene indicators: total bacteria count, Escherichia coli, residual chlorine, etc.
5. Water quality standards for irrigation reuse water: COD less than or equal to 10 mg/L, BOD5 less than or equal to 5 mg/L, TSS less than or equal to 2 mg/L, pH value between 6.5-8.5, total nitrogen less than or equal to 10 mg/L, total phosphorus less than or equal to 0.5 mg/L.
IV. Circulating Water and its Systems
Circulating water refers to water used in a production process that, after appropriate treatment, is reused in other systems or processes. A circulating water system refers to water used in a particular production process that, after appropriate treatment, is used in other production processes within or outside the same water system.
